Cookeville is home base. If you live here or anywhere in Putnam County, you can sit down with us in person at 1435 S Jefferson Ave, Suite D, for Medicare, life insurance, final expense, annuities or ancillary plans. We’re an independent agency, so we compare options from the carriers we represent instead of selling for just one company. The consultation is free.

Medicare
Medicare Advantage and Part D plans are offered county by county, so the plans, prices, and drug lists available to a Cookeville resident can differ from what a neighbor in the next county sees. That’s why a general plan chart rarely answers your question. We look at what’s offered where you live and check it against your doctors, your pharmacy, and your medications.
Most Medicare clients come to us with one of four needs:
- They’re turning 65 and want to understand their first Medicare choices.
- They’re on a plan that changed and want to know whether to switch.
- They’re helping a parent or spouse sort out what coverage they have.
- They’ve moved to the Upper Cumberland and need a local agent.
For the full picture of how Parts A, B, C, and D fit together, see our Medicare plans in Tennessee page. This page is about getting that help locally.
What to Check Before You Choose a Plan in Cookeville
Premiums are only part of the picture. These four things decide whether a plan works for you:
- Your doctors and hospital. Many Cookeville-area residents get care at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and nearby clinics. Confirm that each one you use is in a plan’s network before you enroll.
- Specialists farther away. Some specialty care means a trip to Nashville or Knoxville. Check whether a plan covers those visits and what you’d pay.
- Your prescriptions. Drug lists change every year. A medicine covered this year may be priced differently or dropped next year.
- Your total yearly cost. Add premium, deductible, copays, and the most you could pay out of pocket. A low premium can cost more overall.
When Can You Enroll?
If you’re turning 65, your Initial Enrollment Period is seven months long: it starts three months before your birthday month and ends three months after. Everyone can review and change Medicare Advantage and Part D plans during the Annual Enrollment Period, October 15 to December 7. People already on a Medicare Advantage plan have a second window from January 1 to March 31. Some life events open a special enrollment period, such as moving or losing other coverage. Call us and we’ll tell you which window applies to you.
Life Insurance, Final Expense and Retirement Planning
Life insurance can replace income, pay off a mortgage or leave something behind for family. Final expense insurance is a smaller, simpler policy meant to cover funeral and burial costs so your family isn’t left with the bill. We help Cookeville families sort out which one fits and how much coverage makes sense. See our life insurance and final expense insurance pages.
If you’re approaching retirement, an annuity can turn savings into a steady income stream, and the timing of your Social Security claim can change what you receive for the rest of your life. Original Medicare also leaves most routine dental, vision and hearing care uncovered, and ancillary plans can fill some of those gaps.
